surface induction harden

零件要求用表面感应淬火，有这个要求：“Hardness penetration depth or case depth 0.8-1.8”
请问Hardness penetration depth 、case depth 是什么意思？两种通用吗？

Hardness penetration depth字面意思是硬度穿透深度，
case depth   既能表示硬化层深度，又能表示渗层深度的专业术语

前一种表述方法不常见，但是我的理解，这两种之间用OR连接，应该是同一种意思。即硬化层深度。

case depth是泛指层深，对感应加热而言应是指硬化层深度；对渗碳处理而言，才是指渗碳层深度。

In my brain, I remember that "case depth" means " the effective hardened depth" and "penetration depth" means " total depth of the induction or carburization".

penetration depth means the how deep the magnetic ray can penetrate into the material, shown on the result is the total depth which including the transition zone,there is a clear boundary between core material and hardened area normally.
case depth generally means the effective depth which is defined by GB and other criterions.
