ADI is Austempered Ductile Iron

white arrows: Lower B + R.A.; obtained by Austempering.
red arrows:  high C% M + R.A. obtained by induction hardened area,

yellow arrows: interdendritic areas, rich in alloy elements.
Therefore, micro-voids and carbide present, and M and R.A. abound.
R.A. is highly reflective, and that is why these areas appear "white".
photo iq3 is taken from this area.
