I often meet  there are different hardness on the different position on the same works, especially shaft, roller and guide. one part is only rquire nomarl  or quench & tempert; the other part is required surface hardness. in fact, the later one is much higher than the former. so we  have to pattention to these, or it is easy for us to make wrong.
