:For parts heat treated in vacuum furnace, the following requirements shall be fulfilled:
(4) Dew point shall be equal or lower than -54 °C (-65 °F).
(5) Dew point shall be measured and recorded continuously. For specific furnaces (eg integral
oil quench furnace) any deviation shall be validated by the Competent Authority.

3.2 Partial Pressure Atmospheres
Analysis of the dewpoint at the location of replenishment is not required, however, the dew point of the gas
shall be - 60 ºF or lower as the gas enters the furnace and shall be verified at least quarterly .
