This part of our forum is so quiet, few people participated.   Every time I came here to find the same articles, weeks or months ago. But some welding based forums' english part were so crowded. This phenomena confused me much.
I work in a welding based workshop, but my major workwas about heat treatment, there were so my forein standards and codes in english, and we in did need english to cantact some foreigner and solve some problems.However, for heat treatment, I have not fond any EN or ASME or some other standard about heatment (which can indicate heat treatment practice), so can I made a conclusion : heat treatment is less important than welding?

I hope forum's manger can enhance and broaden this english part, introduce some foreign standards and codes oradvanced technology to us members. Not just some translations.

People who knows heat treatment is less than welding.If you ask someone in china 'do you konw welding‘ ，the answer always yes.But if you ask "heat treatment",only 30% say yes.

thanks for your reply, welding and heat treatment are two common procedures in engineering. But, welding is easily approched than heat treatment, since heat treatment process need more equipments and a trained worker.

The reason why less topic concerning English standards here might be those guys usually touch Chinese standards in their dayly jobs. That don't means ISO, DIN, JIS, SAE and ASME etc. is not necessary to them. I beleave, those foreign standards have been translated to Chinese version already. Original langauge version is not required.
